Therapy for Adolescents

This is one of the most important phases in your life, and even though it may be challenging this is where you emerge. What you do today will set you up for the future, and even though it may be difficult to imagine what life will be like beyond your teenage years, there is so much yet to come; you can be anything you want if you put your mind to it. These are the years of growth, discovery, and creative exploration.

Being a teenager isn’t easy; it is the time of your life where you are trying to make sense of the world, explore your passions, build long lasting relationships, and maintain academic success.

We will work together to understand important shifts and transitions in your life, become open to change, become more present, and aware of your emotions. We will work towards developing meaning, purpose, and direction in your life as you prepare for adulthood.

Writing in and outside of Therapy

I use Pongo Teen Writing as an option to help clients express themselves using poetry during one-on-one sessions and groups; this allows for teens to articulate feelings they ordinarily wouldn’t express. I also use journaling to bring attention to how you are feeling in the moment as things happen within your life outside of therapy.
