Online Psychotherapy and how it works

If you are interested in working with me, please reach out by phone, email,  to schedule our initial 20-minute phone consultation. In this call we will have the chance to discuss your reasons for coming to therapy, my therapeutic approach, psychotherapy in general, and anything else you feel is important to tell me.

If we feel we would be a good fit in working together we will schedule our first appointment at the end of our call.

Within a few hours you will receive an email from me via Simple Practice providing you with a temporary passcode to sign into the secure online HIPPA compliant software. Here you will have the opportunity to change your password, fill in your personal information, insurance information (for superbills), fill in payment information, complete the standard intake form, review and electronically sign both Telehealth consent and Disclosure forms. You will also have the option to set your notifications and reminders for future appointments. As well as look at the schedule to cancel or select a new time for our appointment.

Psychotherapy is most effective when we meet at least once per week. To maintain consistency the time frame we select for our appointment will be our set time every week. If we need to change the time or day, we will accommodate this. Especially these days with meetings changing and trying to find privacy at home things may need to fluctuate accordingly.

Simple Practice is a HIPPA compliant software company that I use to run all my scheduling, transactions, insurance superbills, shared important documents, and Telehealth sessions through.

For our sessions it is important that you find privacy to speak freely about what you are experiencing and feeling. Some people sit in their car, find a private space in their home, or step outside in a safe private environment. It is important that the people we live with respect our privacy and that we make sure we can receive the mental health care needed.

You will receive a link to access our session 24 hours in advance via email or by text. If you do not receive a link let me know and I will re-send it to you. Once our session time arrives you will use the link to meet me virtually on either your phone or computer.
